World War I (1914-1918): World War I was started from 1914 to 1918 and it was a devastating start to the 19th century. In the First World War, millions of people died and many were injured and became homeless. In the First World War, estimated deaths were around 16 million marking a negative in history. A devastating global war that resulted in the deaths of over 16 million people and dramatically altered the political landscape of Europe.
World War II (1939-1945): WWII was started between the Allied powers (Britain, the United States, France, the Soviet Union, and China) and the Axis powers (Germany, Italy, and Japan). In WWII US destroyed two main cities of Japan Hiroshima and Nagasaki through Atomic Bombs. In the US Nuclear attack, millions of people died and till now they were facing illness due to nuclear radiation.
Vietnam War (1955-1975): The Vietnam War is considered one of the prolonged conflicts in the history of warfare. This conflict becomes the reason for the Cold War and it also leads to millions of deaths and widespread anti-war movements.

Russian Revolution: The Revolution of Bolshevik became the reason for the rise of the Soviet Union which significantly changed the Political situation of Russia and across the world.
Civil Rights Movement: This movement is considered one of the most important campaigns in the world. The Civil Rights Movement marked the end of racial aggression and discrimination against African Americans. Martin Luther King Jr. was the most important figure in the Movement.
Fall of the Berlin Wall: The fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 symbolized the end of the Cold War and it led to the reunification of Germany and the end of the communist campaigns across Eastern Europe.
Advancements in Technology and Science
Moon Landing: In 1969 Apollo 11 successfully landed on the moon. It was one of the greatest moments in the history of mankind, it shows technological power and scientific development.
Development of the Internet: The Internet project was initially started as a military project in 1960 but later on the internet transformed global communication, culture, and commerce.
Humanitarian Crises and Genocides
Holocaust:
From 1941 to 1945 Nazi Germany perpetrated the genocide. Their target was Romani people, Jews, disabled people, and many others, it was one the most terrifying events in the history of mankind. Millions of Jews and Romani people lost their precious lives during the genocide.
Rwandan Genocide (1994):
Hutu extremists did a brutal mass slaughter of Tutsi, Hutu extremists approximately killed more than 800,000 people in just 100 days.
Disasters and Accidents
Chernobyl Disaster: In the Soviet Union, the Catastrophic nuclear accident happened in 1986 and it was one of the most horrific accidents ever in the history of mankind. It caused widespread radioactive waves and long-term health issues.
Indian Ocean Tsunami: This natural incident happened in 2004, a massive undersea earthquake triggered the Tsunami. In this incident, more than 230,000 people were killed across 14 countries.
Cultural and Social Milestones
Women’s Suffrage Movement: Many movements all over the world led Women to get the right to cast a vote, it was started in countries like the United States, New Zealand, and others throughout the century.
Fall of Apartheid in South Africa: When people stand against Racism and many active campaigns in favor of Black people led to the Election of Nelson Mandela as the first Black President in 1994.
